Aeration

Why use a wine aerator?

The aerator oxygenates the wine. It helps open up the aromas and soften the tannins of a red wine, so you can enjoy it to the full, even if you open it at the last minute. Enjoy better aeration control without rushing your ageing wines.

Perfectly controlled aeration for all your wines

The most common method for aerating wine is to use a carafe, or to open the bottle a few hours before tasting. With carafing, therefore, you need to open your bottle of wine in advance to take full advantage of its potential.

With an aerator such as Aveine connected models, aerate your wines in just a few minutes and prevent the risk of oxidation. Our aerators provide just the right amount of oxygen, for a wine that retains its color and balance. And, without any shyness, reveals its aromas!

How to choose your wine aerator?

Softer tannins and less astringent wines

Tannins cause astringency in the mouth during tasting. A wine aerator softens the tannins. It's a particularly practical accessory when you like tannic red wines.

Aveine's advice

If they are regularly used in conjunction with each other, it's important to distinguish between a wine aerator and a decanter. Some devices perform both decantation (separation of deposits) and aeration of the wine. Other models are aerators or decanters only, and perform only the oxygenation or decanting process. Choose your appliance according to the wine to be aerated.
